Amy Wunsch, MSPT

Co-Owner & Doctor of Physical Therapy

Amy Wunsch has nearly two decades of experience helping patients and athletes recover from and prevent injury.  After working at some of the top physical therapy clinics in Southern California, Amy and her husband decided to open Next Level Physical Therapy and Athletic Performance in 2016. Their goal was simple:

  1. bridge the gap between physical therapy, personal training, and athletic performance using a multidisciplinary approach
  2. provide the best possible care and treatment for our community
  3. create treatment plans that are personalized and tailored to your specific concerns and goals.
  4. provide a warm, fun and welcoming environment that inspires achievement.

Our team exists to guide our clients to reach their highest physical potential so that they can live a limitless life, unhindered by pain, fear, or injury.  We emphasize on a “whole body” approach to truly take your recovery to the “next level.”  We take into account your posture, mental health, nutrition, previous injuries, lifestyle, goals and a number of other factors to make meaningful, long-lasting change so you get the most out of your body and fully participate in the activities you love.

Amy specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine.  She has experience working with a wide variety of patients including amateur, professional and Olympic athletes (Major League Baseball, USA Cycling, Union Cycliste Internationale, National Women’s Soccer League, USA Powerlifting, USA Track and Field, World Boxing Association, UFC, BAMMA USA Pro-Series, Global Legion FC, World Association of Kickboxing, X-Games Athletes: Moto X, USA Beach Handball, PGA junior).  Amy has also treated professional ballerinas, Cirque De Soleil entertainers, professional opera singers, actors, stunt people and has extensive experience treating orthopedic injuries in patients from 7 weeks to 102 years of age.   As an athlete herself, Amy is passionate about keeping patients, “in the game,” whether your game is to be able to play with your grandkids, compete on a world stage, or simply live a pain-free lifestyle. Our team is dedicated to decreasing pain, improving your quality of life and reaching YOUR goals.

Amy earned a Master of Clinical Science and Master of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in New York where she was captain of the State Champion Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field teams and was a member of the Women’s Soccer Team.  Professionally, Amy has coached multiple 1/2 marathon teams and is the former Team Physical Therapist for the LA Strikers FC, a professional women's soccer team.
